我見證著天后英皇道這片護土牆先後出現過三幅美美的圖畫,存活期都很短暫,最終都是同一命運。每次看著這些大大小小的方格,總是一頭問號,這些難度比先前的那個圖畫好看嗎?

Invader's work is not universally welcomed. During his Hong Kong invasion in early 2014, Invader installed 48 works all over the city. However, those situated in public roadways were swiftly removed in a blitz by the Highways Department, "to ensure safety of road users". Many users of social media criticised the removals, saying this proved the government was only paying lip-service to promoting the arts in the city. The artist expressed his sadness, saying he "never faced a situation where a public authority would systematically and rapidly remove the art from the streets". He pointed out the contradiction between the action and Hong Kong's declared aspiration to be a hub for the arts. (Full statement)

《華爾街日報》報道,Invader農曆新年前來港,在港九多處留下五十多幅塗鴉作品,包括天后英皇道旁護土牆、中環中銀大廈天橋底、國金中心附近外牆、還有灣仔、跑馬地、油麻地私樓外牆等。
「入侵者」作品值數百萬
但有市民發現Invader的部份作品已被清除,如英皇道一幅大型食鬼塗鴉遭路政署派人剷走,炮台山一間小店店主在facebook留言,批評當局「連一個細微的讓你會心微笑的moment也趕盡殺絕。」
路政署剷除天后「食鬼」
路政署發言人回應,早前接獲報告,指英皇道與清風街交界的斜坡被人設置「類似瓷磚裝飾」,署方派員查察,安排承建商本月十三日將之移除。
樂隊LMF主音、本地塗鴉大師MC仁不滿政府部門唔識寶,因Invader的塗鴉作品連法國國藝術館亦收藏,更受世界各地被粉絲熱捧,拍賣價高達數十萬元。他對當局只懂清潔市容,不懂分辨公共藝術,感到遺憾,反映官方藝術水平落後,今次事件是「文化走寶」。文化收藏家鍾燕齊亦指,事件反映官僚缺乏藝術知識,為方便管理公眾空間,一刀切抹殺公共藝術。

藝術和塗鴉都是一線之差的作品而已,視乎用什麼角度來對待。當局處理手法有它們的原則,不因個人因素而改變,這是法治的精神!
